Panel Discussion: Fabulating Futures for a Planet in Crisis (Screening of film Milaap)
April 2nd 2024
Via Zoom at 3:00 PM CET to 6:00 PM CET
Woman. Life. Freedom. These three words stand for a courageous opposition movement, in honor of which Narges Mohammadi was awarded the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize “for her fight against the oppression of women in Iran and her fight to promote human rights and freedom for all.” (Nobel Committee, 2023). What if we took this principle of care reflected in these three words as a starting point to analyze and evolve current narratives and lived realities towards a more just, peaceful and sustainable coexistence?
Women, Life, Freedom: if we put these factors at the heart of our societies at large in a new social and ecological contract, what would these look and feel like?

Launch Of The Natural Heritage Association Of Karachi : Inauguration of THE BANYAN TREES of Old Clifton-Conservation Project
Conceptualized by: Sindh Govt. & Marvi Mazhar & Associates.
The Banyan trees of Clifton are part of an essential environmental ecosystem and possess immense cultural and historic significance. Therefore, urgent interventions should be made against harming these trees, and professional measures should be taken to protect them from termites, vandalism, and extreme weather conditions.
The Natural Heritage Association of Karachi (NHAK) is a civil society driven project in collaboration with the Commissioner of Karachi that was founded after a group of concerned citizens collectively decided to develop a natural heritage action plan to protect the trees of Karachi. Working closely with local government officials, NHAK has developed a comprehensive heritage action plan to protect, preserve, and promote the Banyan Trees on Hatim Alvi Road and Shahrah-e-Iran.

theme ‘Seeking Home — The Afghan Narrative’
Traveling Exhibition organised by Goethe Institute
By revealing the stories of this community labelled “refugee” for four generations, a narrative emerges which is both tragic and beautiful, relatable and alien. The stories at the exhibit speak of love, of heart aches, of fears, of economics, of war, of peace, of home – of the home lost and the one gained.
